Joe Diggs is a current CVBBA Board Member and a highly seasoned professional with an unyielding array of diverse functions that span over a 35-year career within investment banking, commercial real estate, credit risk, capital markets, federal regulatory sectors and government-guaranteed lending. His career encompasses senior leadership roles at multi-billion dollar publicly traded companies, mergers & acquisitions, over $40B of commercial lending & financing, federal bank regulator, CMBS securitizations & conduit lending, along with construction & real estate development lending. Recognized for creating & heading business units, superior credit risk management skills, business development, public-speaking, policy writing and driving profitability for institutions, his career shows an ascending trend of sound decision-making and judgment that implements best practice, acute business acumen, financial results and internal controls. Most recently, Joe has led several regional banks as the head of U.S. Small Business Administration lending with the primary responsibility for all strategy development & implementation, business development and loan production with over $900MM of originations controlling all front-end and back-end processes. Joe is currently the SVP, National Sales Executive for Ameris Bank, focusing on government guaranteed lending with the U.S. Small Business Administration (“SBA”) suite of products. Joe is the Founder, Board Chairman and Executive Director of Roll With the Punches Foundation, Inc. He is also a U.S. Army Special Operation Forces veteran, 9Round Kickboxing Franchise Owner and the former Ringside Lt. Heavyweight Boxing Champion.
