Trip Holmes began his career in the M&A industry in 1984, after spending the first five years of his career as a commercial lending officer at the former Wachovia Bank based in Winston-Salem, as well as a short stint working for a North Carolina investment banking firm. Early in his career, Trip learned the fundamentals of business, as well as the special intangibles that owners, management, and customers bring to the equation for businesses to thrive across generations.
Heavily influenced by his work with hundreds of middle market businesses across sectors as diverse as agriculture, technology, manufacturing, healthcare, and business services, Trip launched Sabre Capital as a boutique investment banking firm that would deliver the high-touch experience that clients had come to expect from their most trusted advisors in legal, banking, and accounting services.
Under Trip’s leadership, Sabre Capital has helped dozens of middle-market companies—largely family-owned business—across North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia, as they mitigate the challenges of growth, changing competitive landscapes, and their plans for retirement. Today, Sabre Capital offers a full complement of investment banking services.
Trip Holmes graduated from East Carolina University in 1979, with a bachelor of science in business administration, with a concentration in finance.
